Gigi lost 61 pounds

I’ve been on a weight loss journey for years, going up and down and getting discouraged. At the beginning of the pandemic and lockdown, I made some significant changes in my life. I was finally able to maintain lasting changes in terms of my fitness. I’ve lost a total of 61 pounds and have five more pounds to go until I reach my goal weight!

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
I got approached by a military recruiter and wanted to lose weight for boot camp. I also wanted to change my life and my mentality.

How did you change your eating habits?
I started by doing intermittent fasting 16:8. Then I began lowering my intake of carbohydrates. Now I do the one-meal-a-day version of intermittent fasting [OMAD].

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
My workouts consist of resistance training, using the elliptical, running, boot camp.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 236 pounds, and my current weight is 175 pounds. My goal is 170 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 5’7.5″.

How long did your transformation take?
It took one year.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
No, I did not have weight loss surgery.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
Your excuses will not help you on this weight loss journey!

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
Be consistent. Even if you fall off for a meal or a day, get back to it the next day.
