Transformation of the Day: Lauren lost 42 pounds. Depression and the pandemic got the best of her in 2020, so she partnered with a friend to make some major changes to her lifestyle. Cutting back on sugar, drinking a gallon of water each day, and working out 4-6 days a week has paid off.

What was your motivation?
I let depression and the pandemic get the best of me, and my weight slowly crept up to 310 pounds. With encouragement from my best friend, we started a program to get healthy.

How did you change your eating habits?
I’ve been consuming proteins and vegetables every day, as well as drinking a gallon of water. I’ve also limited sugars and carbs in my diet. Sugar was the biggest issue for me. I was heavily addicted to it.

What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
Seeing my results each week and pushing myself to do more when working out has kept me inspired. I love seeing my body change. I’m working on getting my daughter involved. I want her to see me working hard so that it motivates her!

What did your workout routine consist of?
I started doing various cardio and HIIT workouts five times a week. Now I work out 4-6 days a week. I am doing weekly workout classes, and I have hired a personal trainer. He’s awesome, and he really pushes me. I feel so much better, and I’m in love with who I am becoming!

What is your current weight?
268 pounds. Since September 2020, I’ve lost 42 pounds and 20 inches.

What is your height?
I’m 5’11”.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
It’s not.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
I learned that I have the ability to stay disciplined and work hard for what I truly want. Getting and staying healthy is the best decision I’ve made in a long time.

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
Diet, diet, diet! I know that people say this a lot, but that’s because it’s true. What you eat is going to be the most significant part of your journey.

Make sure you’re drinking enough water every single day! It’s going to be challenging, but it will be well worth it in the end. Make it your lifestyle! It starts with you.
