Transformation of the Day: Tynisha lost 110 pounds. She is genuinely passionate about health care and has aspirations to one day become a physician. However, she felt like that passion was not reflected back to her when she looked in the mirror. By adopting the Ketogenic diet, practicing intermittent fasting, and working out, she has transformed.

Tynisha lost 110 pounds

I have lost 110 pounds on the Ketogenic diet, and I will be the first to tell you that milestone didn’t come easy! After graduating with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2014, I felt very unhappy and unhealthy. My passion is healthcare, with aspirations to one day become a physician. However, when I looked in the mirror, I did not see that passion for health being manifested in my own life. How could I ever help others if I couldn’t even help myself?

In 2016, I found out about the Keto diet, or so I thought. Although I was losing weight, there were fundamentals of the diet that I was lacking which led to me falling off the wagon. I would start Keto, stop, start, stop, until I nearly gained all of my weight back.

In December of 2019, after doing a lot of research, I decided to try Keto again. This time I did it the healthy way and incorporated daily intermittent fasting. Now I am the smallest I have ever been in my entire adult life! I am experiencing my greatest weight loss and well on my way to better health.

How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by removing sugar, processed foods, and other refined foods. I learned to do Keto the healthy way by choosing more nutrient-dense foods and increasing my veggie intake to 7-10 cups daily. I intermittent fast 18-23 hours a day with 1-2 meals a day.

What did your workout routine consist of?
Strength training and cardio

How often did you work out?
3-5 days a week

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 285 pounds, and my current weight is 175 pounds.

What is your height?
5’3″

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?
I have not had any weight loss surgery or plastic surgery on my journey, but I am open to it in the future. My goal is to work as hard as possible to change my body myself before seeking additional assistance.

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
On your journey, there will be failures, setbacks, stumbles, falls, etc., but your journey is always worth the fight! Get up, dust yourself off, fix your crown and carry on! Never give up on yourself!

What advice would you like to share with women who want to lose weight?
You are capable of more than you know, and you are absolutely stronger than you could ever imagine! You can do whatever you put your mind to. Mind over matter, always. The body can’t go where the mind doesn’t take it.

I never thought in a million years that I could lose this weight naturally since I’ve struggled with obesity since my teen years. However, once I changed my mindset, I changed my body. Now here I stand, accomplishing goals and encouraging others to do the same!
