Venesia before and after weight loss

What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up?
In January 2019, I lost my mother to breast cancer. In June 2016, I lost my grandmother to breast cancer as well. The loss of both took a huge toll on me, which lead to depression. On April 1, 2019, I decided that I wanted to make a change to be healthier both mentally, physically, and spiritually. My husband joined me on this health journey, and with his support and love, I was able to get this far. My mother and grandmother are my biggest motivators as I continue my journey. I want to pass down health and wellness to generations to come. Today, I can stand up and say that I am healthy mentally, physically, and spiritually!

How did you change your eating habits?
I changed my eating habits by cutting out junk foods, sodas, and juice. I try to drink a gallon of water a day. I do intermittent fasting 16/8. I alternate every other week and fast from meat.

What did your workout routine consist of? How often did you work out?
I exercise five days out the week for 1 hour 15 minutes, incorporating 45 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of strength training.

What was your starting weight? What is your current weight?
My starting weight was 240 pounds, and my weight now fluctuates between 180-185 pounds.

What is your height?
I’m 5’5″.

When did you start your journey? How long did your transformation take?
I started my journey on April 1, 2019. I’m still currently on my journey because I’m not at my finished result yet.

Is weight loss surgery part of your journey?

What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far?
My biggest lesson I learned is health is wealth, and life is not about rushing. Instead, it’s about enjoying the beauty of the journey.

What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight?
I would encourage every woman to enjoy the journey, have tunnel vision, and surround herself with people who love and support her.
